"Leave the dog alone?"

By now you are probably wondering why this site is called Leave the Dog Alone. The site itself has little relevance to dogs. The term comes from a response to a young reader of Boy's Own in the 1880's. The curious nature of replies to letters in the correspondence section of the paper is that the original letters were never printed due to lack of space.
